Concert Licensing: Dublin City Council
2:40 pm
Mr. Owen Keegan:
It is a matter for the GAA and the event promoter. I am familiar with other concert venues where there are no objections. There were a significant number of objections. Perhaps the legitimate number was only 250 but that is a significant number of objections. I am aware that there were public meetings at which there was a major outcry about this. No less a figure than the director general has said in public that five concerts was too great an imposition on the local residents. There was clearly a failure. It is a matter for the applicant to undertake the necessary work. It is not for the licensing authority.
