I am opposed to the section because it concerns the establishment of NewERA, which I believe is a Trojan horse for the privatisation of what we might call the family silverware. It is not appropriate this would happen and on that basis I am opposed to all of the sections relating to this. I believe the intention of the Government in regard to State organisations is to bring about their privatisation. Sinn Féin strongly opposes this and believes these organisations should be harnessed to benefit the economy. However, it is clear the Government has an agenda in this regard. Earlier, we discussed directed investment and the role the Government has in regard to directing the agency. For these reasons I am opposed to this section.
