Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement: American Chamber of Commerce Ireland

I thank Mr. Cotter and Mr. Redmond for this very interesting debate. Perhaps it will be one of many more debates to come on this issue. The removal of tariffs and unnecessary rules and bureaucracy will benefit Irish industry, especially as the United States is our second largest trading partner. This will have significant benefits for all concerned. I thank the witnesses for their interesting observations on the current position in the talks on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreement. I look forward to further discussions on other subjects of mutual interest.
