We are discussing EU scrutiny proposals. It is proposed that the proposals listed on Schedule B do not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

I will now deal with Schedule A. COM (2014) 180 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on organic production and labelling of organic products, amending regulations of the European Parliament. It is proposed that the proposal warrants further scrutiny by way of a letter to the Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine requesting further information on exactly how Ireland's target of 5% of land converted to organic will be affected and precisely how Ireland's ability to reach that goal will be limited by the proposal. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2014) 195 is a proposal for a Council regulation amending Regulation No. 43/2014 as regards certain fishing opportunities. While it is proposed that the committee note this adopted measure, the committee will be seeking further clarification on the issue from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Is that agreed? Agreed.
