We are in public session to discuss EU legislative proposals. We will first deal with the proposal listed in schedule B, COM (2014) 85. It is proposed that the proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

We will take a decision on the schedule A item, COM (2014) 28, a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and European Council amending Regulations (EC) No. 715/2007 and (EC) No. 595/2009 as regards the reduction of pollutant emissions from road vehicles. As the proposal appears to be balanced with respect to the environmental effects and the burden to industry, coupled with the fact that Ireland has no indigenous engine manufacturing industry, it is proposed that this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.
