Oversight of Irish Water: Discussion

8:40 pm

Mr. Paul McGowan:

I assure the Deputy it will be meaningful consultation. I hope our track record stands of consultation processes which set out options and ask questions, and of genuinely taking on board the feedback that we receive. We intend to break the overall consultation into chunks. The consultation in April will be about the form that charges take rather than the amount that would attach to them. It will ask how charges should be structured for those who are metered and those who are not metered. In June we will consider revenue requirements, that is, the amount of money needing to be recovered. We will bring all of this together in the decision on the structures and charges to be applied.
