Where direct payment is made to the doctor or consultant as a private referral what is the situation - if the Minister is able to listen to me - with regard to the support staff of the doctor or consultant? They are not being paid privately. They are being paid by the public purse, including a number of associate supporting nursing staff for the private practice element of the practitioners' daily work.
