If I was undertaking an analysis and 800,000 customers had paid the first time via debit or credit card, I would do everything I could to facilitate them paying in the same manner the second time. To me, it should have been obvious to Revenue that asking people who previously paid by debit or credit card in May to pay the second tax in November would have annoyed them. If, as a person who paid the tax in May and who has every intention of paying the tax for 2014 in 2014, I received a demand for early payment of the tax in November, I would not feel I was getting good customer service. Does Ms Feehily not understand the reason for the resistance, annoyance and anger in relation to the demands in that regard?
