Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals

We are now back in public session. There are a number of EU legislative proposals before us today. On Schedule A, COM (2013) 417 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council amending certain regulations in the field of fisheries and animal health, by reason of the change of status of Mayotte with regard to the Union. It is proposed that this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 428 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on amending Council Regulation (EC) No. 1198/2006 as regards certain provisions relating to financial management for certain member states experiencing or threatened with serious difficulties with respect to their financial stability. It is proposed that this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 521 is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on amending Council Regulation (EC) No. 1698/2005 on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). It is proposed that this proposal warrants further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed. It is further proposed to send a letter to the Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine informing him that the committee would like to be notified in advance of the date of entry into force of the new regulation. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2013) 527 is a proposal for a Council regulation fixing the production levies in the sugar sector for the marketing years 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, the coefficient required for calculating the additional levy for the marketing years 2001-02 and 2004-05 and the amounts to be paid by sugar manufacturers to beet sellers in respect of the difference between the maximum amount of the levies and the amount of these levies to be charged for the marketing years 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2005-06. It is proposed that this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

It is proposed that the proposals listed in Schedule B do not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

As there is no further business, I propose to adjourn the meeting.
