It is important to put this into a little bit of context. From time to time, and certainly in the seven years that I have worked in this area, we regularly get correspondence from the European Commission asking about taxation matters. For example, there have been numerous instances in which information has been requested on property relief schemes that have been terminated. A request from the Commission is not unusual. When things appear in the media, however, that often instigates an information request.
