Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform
Overview of Financial Sector: Discussion with Permanent TSB
11:10 am
Mr. Shane O'Sullivan:
It is important to point out that the legal proceedings are a legacy position. They are not a flow of new cases that have been initiated this year as part of a targets process. They a legacy position. I can understand why the Deputy would add the 24% and 12% to get 36%. However, he must also remember we have been very prudent in the number of short-term and long-term offers we have submitted. Chart 2 shows that we actually have a significantly larger number of long-term mortgages and short-term mortgages. We have to be careful of the direct comparison.
