As everybody knows, I am not a member of the committee, but I have deputised for Deputy Dowds. It was a privilege to attend for this debate. I thank the Minister and the Minister of State for their patience, good humour and clarity in explaining the reasons for the various amendments. I also thank the Members who contributed during the debate. This is a great day for the Government and the women of Ireland and I feel proud to be present. I thank the Chairman, who has done a wonderful job. He let everyone have a say and courteously gave everyone time to get points across. This debate has been a great tribute to him. I also thank the staff, including the broadcasting staff and departmental staff, for their tremendous work.
