There is a general perception in some areas that "Travellers equal trouble" and that if a Traveller family moves next door, they will be the neighbours from hell. That is obviously not the case in many instances but it is the perception out there. It is a perception in many areas and it can lead to the kind of reaction to which Deputy Mac Lochlainn and others alluded. I know it is a controversial issue but we must speak about it because all of this links together. With regard to ignorance of the long history and cultural tradition, I would love to know more about those topics as they strike me as being rich and interesting, and some members of the committee may want to learn more about that at a later stage, as it seems fascinating.
