I wish to clarify my position. I was referring to the 50:50 set-up in the committee. This amendment refers specifically to the vote in the House to set up an inquiry. I take the point on the previous amendment. This amendment specifically relates to a government being able to use its majority. I am not having a go at this Government in any way. I am referring to a government using its majority to block something that a sizable portion of the Oireachtas deems worthy of doing. It is standard and successful practice in many other countries.
