Deputy Durkan asked if we are happy that legislation would lead to a universal response in the case of a woman admitted to a facility who is critically ill and whose life is at risk because of the continuation of her pregnancy. That is the thrust, the hope, the feeling of the institute that represents the body of our opinion, that is, our professional body. It has made a submission endorsing the legislation with some discussion and recommendations. Would it be a universal response? No. We are human beings and the word "universal" is probably misplaced.
