I welcome the witnesses and thank them for their presentations. My question relates to the ruling in the X case and the jurisprudence arising therefrom, as outlined by the witnesses. The issue of fatal foetal abnormalities is a very sensitive and emotive one. We have had presentations from women who had to travel to Britain to terminate a pregnancy where there was no potential viability at birth. Will Ms Schweppe clarify that it is her view that it is not necessary to have a constitutional change in order to address this particular issue, if it were deemed suitable and appropriate to do so through legislation?
