A director of the Central Bank made a widely reported comment to the effect that the banks are behaving like spoiled children and asked what they are waiting for. Does Dr. Somers agree with that in respect of the bank and its directors? What is the bank waiting for and why is it not dealing with the mortgage crisis? Representatives of the Central Bank and the regulator have told the joint committee they are not happy with the banks' efforts to deal with the mortgage crisis. Does Dr. Somers believe AIB is behaving that way?
