I thank the Minister and his officials for briefing the committee. The committee considers this engagement on EU matters an important feature of its scrutiny of European issues. I thank the Minister and his staff for all of the information provided by them throughout the year on EU proposals coming before the committee for scrutiny, without which the committee could not carry this important aspect of its work.

I also wish the Minister and his staff every success over the next six months. They have a busy year ahead. As such, they may not be appearing before us much in the six months ahead. We appreciate their briefings. Many members have a particular interest in EU developments.
