Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform

Role and Functions of NAMA: Discussion

5:30 pm

Mr. John Mulcahy:

Yes, and it tells us when it has any special requirement. The Deputy probably read that we were involved in the Kerry Group transaction in Naas, but it came to us. At a minimum, we try to make sure it is aware of everything we have on the market. Where there are special situations, we try to see if there is anything within the portfolio and bring it to the market. We have very good liaison with it. There is also good liaison whenever there is a difficulty with terms and conditions and moving a transaction along or speeding it up. We regard it as part of the national effort.
