Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform
Role and Functions of NAMA: Discussion
3:10 pm
Mr. Frank Daly:
We should be careful. Of the people to whom the information was sent, some were not involved in this at all. Mr. Farrell sent the information in that instance without any encouragement. I will take the case of Ernst & Young. The material was sent to Mr. Farrell's wife at Ernst & Young but there is no suggestion that the company was in any way involved or remiss in this case; it has been extremely helpful and co-operative in that regard. With some of the other cases I am disappointed that there was no action but we cannot set up a ban list. I hinted in my reply that we go through a procurement process and take a view of the type of people with which we wish to deal.
