I know from meetings at grassroots level that there is serious concern within the farming organisations. However, this does not seem to be expressed at national level. The Canadian farming organisation remained silent on the issue of fracking until fracking happened in Canada. However, the experience of the farmers there now has the organisation calling for a ban on any further fracking development in Canada. We must decide not to make a mistake, rather than have to clean up the consequences of a mistake.
