Invalidity Pension (IP) is a payment for people who are permanently incapable of work because of illness or incapacity and for no other reason and who satisfy the pay related social insurance (PRSI) contribution conditions.

The person concerned has been awarded IP with effect from 16 November 2023 and will receive first payment to her nominated bank account on 15 February 2024. Any arrears due from 16 November 2023 to 14 February 2024 will issue shortly after first payment date. The person in question was notified of this decision on 1 February 2024.

I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
