To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the total number of Freedom of Information requests submitted to her Department in 2022 and to date in 2023; the total number of such requests that were rejected in their entirety; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Social Protection receives one of the highest amounts of Freedom of Information requests of any public body. Of these, less than 5% are refused. The most common reason for refusal is that the records simply do not exist. Please see the table below:
