The person concernedreached pension age on 26 December 2022. An application for State Pension (Contributory) was received on the 22 March 2023.The pension was awarded with effect from 26 December 2022 at the maximum weekly rate. The decision issued on23 September 2023.

The first payment will issue to their nominated financial institution on 29 September 2023.This payment will also include arrears due for the period 26 December 2022 to 28 September 2023.

I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
