My Department's officials have been on site with the landowner and are actively considering the request set out in the correspondence to which the Deputy refers. This involves a full assessment of the circumstances on which the request is founded and would also require compliance with formal statutory procedures, including engagement with prescribed consultees.
I am advised that the matter is being dealt with as speedily as possible and that the Department will be in contact with the landowner as soon as there are any further developments. I understand that this is likely to happen over the next few weeks.
