265. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding an application for a new school building (details supplied); if a site has been identified; the location of the site; when planning permission will be submitted; if a start date in 2015 is still feasible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The school building project referred to by the Deputy has been included on the 5 year construction programme for 2015/16. In line with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Education and Skills and the County and City Managers' Association, the Department has been working closely with Donegal County Council in relation to identifying and acquiring a suitable site for the permanent location of Letterkenny Educate Together National School. A suitable site has been identified. However due to the commercial sensitivities associated with land acquisitions generally, I am not in a position to comment further at this time.
My Department will shortly be in contact with the school regarding the further progression of the project.
