To ask the Minister for Health if he has received complaints regarding the national communications director of the Health Service Executive which alleges behaviour that seeks to silence or intimidate medical columnists who are highlighting issues of genuine public concern (details supplied); if he has acted to investigate and resolve the issue; the actions taken by the national communications director regarding this article; if the director acted on his own or was he directed to do so; if the actions of the director are condoned by him; and the repercussions, if any, for the director with regard to his actions. My Department has no record of having received such complaints and as the individual is an employee of the Health Service Executive it has been referred to the HSE for direct reply.
