The Travel Abroad Scheme (TAS) provides for the cost of approved specific treatments in a public healthcare system of another EU/EEA Member State or Switzerland in accordance with EU legislation and guidelines. A decision is made on each application in accordance with this legislation and guidelines and on the basis of a review by clinical experts. The HSE has advised that no application has been received under the Scheme in relation to the case above.
