My Department has been requested by the EU Commission to forward information associated with the State’s management of sea lice. This is currently in hand and a detailed response will issue to the Commission very shortly.
In relation to Pilot Complaint 764/09/ENVI, as previously indicated to the Deputy, following consideration of the scientific facts underpinning the State’s control protocols for the management of sea lice the EU Commission closed the case on 11 October 2012. Accordingly, my Department regards this matter as settled.
