746. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if two walks in County Kerry will be linked up (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [34357/13]

My Department has no plans to link the walks referred to at this time. Such a proposal would require the development of at least an additional 20km of trail to link with the trailhead for the Bolus Loop Walk. However, the Bolus Loop Walk is an excellent amenity and of great benefit to the local community and visitors to the area, offering leisure, health and economic opportunities. There are several B&B’s, hostels, local businesses and shops which appreciate the support of landowners on the Bolus Loop Walk as it is well used and known in the locality .
