75. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the role Transport for Ireland has played in progressing the public transport service; the progress the body has made to date on real time information for public transport services; the costs of establishing this real time service; the further steps that will be taken by that body in the future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. Following the establishment of the National Transport Authority (NTA) in December 2009, the implementation and development of infrastructure projects in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA), such as Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) as well as the development and implementation of a single transport brand, come under the remit of the NTA.
Noting this I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Will the Deputy please advise my private office if he does not receive a reply within 10 working days.
