The Young Farmers' Installation Scheme was closed to new applicants on 14 October 2008 and I have no plans to reopen the Scheme at this time. A number of tax measures were contained in the 2012 Budget in order to assist young farmers to pursue a career in farming.

really like wat! i'm just after starting farming this year and there is absolutly nothing there to help me. i've applyed to the national reserve for the max allowance of 5000. chances are i won't even recieve the full amount. installance aid was to get young farmers up and prouducing. wat can a young farmer do wit 5000? maybe pay for a tank of diesel or buy a couple cows of maybe just buy some food for the table. i'm 27 and trying to get on my feet but at ever turn i'm being tripped by a piece of "red tape" wat else can i do but get back up and keep going if i don't i just become another member of the communite in the social welfair office with my hand out.
