Question 125: To ask the Minister for Health if the test strips that are used along with the CoaguChek XS machine to test for blood coagulation levels can be made available on the general medical card and drugs payments scheme in view of the fact that they have to be bought weekly by persons with blood coagulation problems; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The HSE is assessing the potential of new technologies for the management of blood coagulation levels which may impact upon the requirement for regular testing of the kind referred to by the Deputy.
