Department of Environment, Community and Local Government
Water and Sewerage Schemes
Pearse Doherty (Donegal South West, Sinn Fein)
Question 468: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the expected start date for Dungloe and Glenties sewerage schemes, County Donegal; the expected duration of these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9772/12]
Phil Hogan (Minister, Department of Environment, Community and Local Government; Carlow-Kilkenny, Fine Gael)
The Dungloe and Glenties Sewerage Schemes, which are to advance jointly, are included in the Water Services Investment Programme 2010 – 2012 among the list of contracts in Donegal to start in the period 2010 -2012.
My Department has approved the tender documents for the work, which involves the provision of new wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and sewers in Dungloe and Glenties, and it is a matter for Donegal County Council to advance the combined scheme through the tender process.
