The Building Regulations (Part L Amendment) Regulations 2010 came into effect on 1 December 2011. Prior to their introduction, the regulations were subject to a full public consultation including a rigorous Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA). The RIA is archived on the building standards section of the Department's website www.environ.ie. A copy of the RIA has also been forwarded to the Deputy.
