The Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) is the statutory authority with responsibility for the enforcement of commercial sea-fisheries protection and seafood safety legislation in Ireland. The Authority was established under the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006. The Authority employs 67 fishery officers. The Authority does not employ any water bailiffs nor does it issue any warrants.
