Question 14: To ask the Minister for Health if the third phase of the development of Naas General Hospital, County Kildare, will proceed in the short or medium term, which would result in the old hospital being taken out of commission; if the development will occur on a phased basis; the way it is intended to deal with the replacement of the endoscopy unit in that context; if the temporary day hospital will be replaced in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A number of major capital projects have been completed and commissioned at Naas General Hospital in recent years Any further developments will have to be considered in the light of the outcome of the review of capital spending which is currently underway. However, I can say there is as yet no time frame for Phase 3 of the development and there is currently no active plan to replace the day hospital.
