Question 97: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills with reference to the proposed changes to the school transport programme, if there will be concessions to the €200 per pupil charge for concessionary transport, for medical card holders; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the terms of the Primary School Transport Scheme concessionary transport is available subject to a number of conditions including payment of a charge which is currently €200 per annum. As these pupils are not eligible for school transport, under the terms of the scheme, there is no exemption from this charge.
