On 1 March 2011, a representation made by the persons in question was received by the Forestry Division of my Department. The Division registered that representation as a formal appeal. The formal appeal procedure requires that the case is independently reviewed by a committee of senior officials who have had no involvement in the case to date. This procedure was completed and the applicants were informed on 24th March 2011 that their appeal had been unsuccessful. They subsequently repaid the outstanding debt to my Department on 4 April 2011. My officials are unaware of any further outstanding requests by the applicants in relation to their case.
