My officials are in regular contact with counterparts in the Northern Ireland Department of Finance and Personnel and HM Treasury with regard to a range of matters. Budget 2011 is, of course, a matter for the Irish Government. The Irish Government is committed to restoring sustainability to the public finances and achieving a General Government Deficit below 3% of GDP by the end of 2014. Work is now underway on a four year budgetary plan that will set out the annual measures required to meet this target. The four year plan will be published in the first half of November taking account of the latest economic and fiscal data. Budget 2011 will be presented to the Dáil on Tuesday, 7th December.
