Question 326: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of domestic violence incidents that the Garda Síochána responded to in each of the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20029/10]

In the time available it has not been possible for the Garda authorities to provide the information requested by the Deputy. I will be in contact with the Deputy when the information is to hand.

Victims of domestic abuse know better than to call the Gardai, for fearof loosing their children to the abuser or the state. The word is out- abused at home, abused by the system- in a patriarchal country- Eiru.
