Question 153: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if she will make funds available to the Health Service Executive West for the replacement of retiring staff at a nursing home (details supplied) in County Galway at which the bed numbers have been reduced to 28 beds when there is a maximum capacity for 38 beds as a result of staff not being replaced; if her attention has been drawn to the excellent service which this nursing home has given to the care of elderly people from Galway city and surrounding areas over the past 30 years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that due to industrial action affecting the Health Service Executive, it is not possible for the Executive to supply the information requested. If this matter remains of continuing concern to you, however, I would invite you to raise it with me again in due course.
