Question 513: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of legal proceedings that are pending with regard to foreshore or aquaculture licensing; if it is expected that there will be financial implications for his or another Department resulting from the outcome of such proceedings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. At present my Department has approximately 45 legal cases under consideration involving either Foreshore or Aquaculture licensing. Of these, 16 cases are currently before the Courts. The remainder are at various stages of legal preparation. Pending the judicial outcome in each case it is not possible to quantify the financial implications.
