As I hope this will be the last sitting day this year, I wish all Members a very happy Christmas. I thank Deirdre Lane, Martin Groves and the staff of the Seanad for their co-operation during the year. I thank the Leas-Chathaoirleach and acting chairpersons, the ushers and the Members for their great co-operation throughout the year. I wish them all a happy and a safe Christmas, looking forward to 2016.
I congratulate Senator Jillian van Turnhout on becoming the politician of the year. She got the gong and is keeping the flag flying for the Upper House.
