I must now deal with a postponed division relating to the motion regarding the Twenty-third Report of the Standing Committee of Selection. Today, on the question, "That the motion be agreed to", a division was claimed and in accordance with Standing Order 80(2) that division must be taken now. It is the first time we have ever had a vote on a proposal coming from the committee of selection but nonetheless the vote will now be taken.

Question put: "That the motion be agreed to."

Will the Deputies dissenting who are claiming a division please rise in their places?

Deputies Paul Murphy, Mick Barry, Gino Kenny, Richard Boyd Barrett, and Bríd Smith rose.

As fewer than ten Deputies have risen, I declare the question carried. In accordance with Standing Order 82 the names of the Deputies dissenting will be recorded in the Journal of the Proceedings of the Dáil.

Question declared carried.
