Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Thomas Pringle - the need to develop a national wind energy policy recognising all stakeholders and to retain the value of the resource at local and national level; (2) Deputy Catherine Murphy - the delays in completing school accommodation works at St. Anne's national school, Ardclough, County Kildare; (3) Deputy John Paul Phelan - the need for the Health Service Executive to alter its recruitment policy in respect of psychologists to allow for the recruitment of both educational and counselling psychologists; (4) Deputies Ann Phelan and Brendan Smith - the recent deterioration in the civil war in Syria; (5) Deputies Patrick Nulty and Richard Boyd Barrett - the proposed sale of Coillte harvesting rights; (6) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the need to have a new ferry boat service contract in place for the service to the Aran Islands; (7) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - the need to discuss the spiralling cost of health insurance; (8) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin - the need to discuss the case of a person in County Monaghan (details supplied) who has been diagnosed with autism; (9) Deputy Michael Moynihan - the loss of major meat processing contracts from the Silvercrest plant; and (10) Deputy Mick Wallace - the need for more direct action to combat obesity.
The matters raised by Deputies Éamon Ó Cuív, Ann Phelan and Brendan Smith, Patrick Nulty and Richard Boyd Barrett, and John Paul Phelan have been selected for discussion.
