I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy John Perry - the invitation issued by the World Health Organisation to Taiwan to take part as an observer in the upcoming World Health Assembly in view of the outbreak of a new multi-strain swine flu; (2) Deputy Ciarán Lynch - the provision of a community welfare officer in the Ballyphehan-Togher area of Cork; (3) Deputy James Bannon - the reason that application forms in respect of funding under the lottery sports grants for 2009 are not yet available; (4) Deputy Bernard J. Durkan - the urgent and pressing issue of the matter of the failure to award a higher education grant to Adesina Adeyemi of 29 The Paddocks, Kilcock, County Kildare, who has complied with all the requirements set out and if the Minister for Education and Science will make a statement on the matter; (5) Deputies Terence Flanagan and Finian McGrath - the need for an adequate budget to be provided to Prosper Fingal in North County Dublin; (6) Deputy Pat Breen - the announcement of the loss of 400 jobs at the DAA and the implications of this announcement for staff at Shannon Airport where the downturn in the aviation sector could see further reductions in both Ryanair and Aer Lingus services at the airport and the need for the Minister for Transport to put in place a series of measures to address the airport's declining passenger figures; (7) Deputy Chris Andrews - in light of the recent announcement that the post office service in Ringsend is to be closed, to ask that the Minister will ensure every other option to retain it in Ringsend is exhausted prior to proposals to move it to the Barrow Street area; (8) Deputy Joe Costello - the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to outline the operation of the Private Security Authority since its establishment two years ago and the need to review the licensing procedures and criteria; (9) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan - the provision of funding in respect of the replacement of Ballinaghar Bridge, Lixnaw, County Kerry; (10) Deputy Liz McManus - the need to secure the jobs of five staff at Bray Recycling Centre whose temporary contracts have not been renewed, in view of the essential work they do, and the support that they have from the community of Bray as evidenced by the 12,000 signatures collected in solidarity with their situation; (11) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - in light of the surge in road deaths and collisions in the past six weeks, the urgent need for the Minister for Transport to fully report to Dáil Éireann on the current funding crisis in the Road Safety Authority, RSA, given the recent severe criticism of the Government and Minister for Transport by the chairperson of the RSA, Mr. Gay Byrne, regarding the slashing of the budget for road safety campaigns, the failure to roll out the national speed camera programme, the reduced level of enforcement due to budgetary constraints on the Garda Síochána and the failure to bring forward critical road safety legislation under the long promised new Road Traffic Amendment Bill, and if he will make a statement on the matter; and (12) Deputy Joe McHugh - the need for the NRA to include "new business development" in its terms of reference for planning new road entrances onto national secondary routes.

The matters raised by Deputies Terence Flanagan and Finian McGrath and Deputies John Perry, Ciarán Lynch and Jimmy Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
