The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) is an independent, statutory body under the aegis of my Department. The WRC’s primary functions include the inspection of employment law compliance, the provision of information on employment law, mediation, adjudication, conciliation, and advisory services.

The WRC’s 2026 funding allocation (excluding pension provisions) was €22.084 million. The estimated cost of increasing WRC funding by 5%, 10%, 20%, 25% and 50%, based on the 2026 allocation, is set out in the following table.

I am satisfied that the funding allocated to the WRC is sufficient to enable it carry out its important work.
