210. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he has engaged with representatives of limousine and other SPSVs regarding restrictions on using bus lanes including being unable to cross O’Connell Bridge in Dublin which is creating significant challenges for businesses; who he has engaged with; when these engagements took place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise that Minister O'Brien previously engaged with representatives of the relevant industry regarding bus lane usage.
Following this engagement, along with discussion with Government officials, there are no plans to amend the relevant regulations to allow limousines to use bus lanes.
The Deputy may note that traffic management for Dublin City, including O'Connell Bridge, is a matter for Dublin City Council.
