300. To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if the online process for registering a company with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) is fully compliant with the provisions of the Official Languages (Amendment) Act 2021; if all information on the CRO site, including dropdown menu options, is available through Irish for business owners; if not, if he will instruct the CRO to make the necessary updates; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Companies Registration Office (CRO) is committed to meeting its obligations under the Official Languages Acts. An Irish version of the new CRO website has been developed; reminder letters and enforcement documentation are provided in Irish and English; requirements for social media posts and advertising through Irish are being met.
I understand that it is not currently possible to fully complete, through Irish, an application for incorporation of a company. I have been advised by the CRO that they have been working to address this issue with their software developers and it is expected that the required functionality will be available in the coming weeks.
